Privacy Policy

ChipsMind is built to know as little about you as possible. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data the app handles, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.

Who we are

ChipsMind ("the app", "we", "us") is published by Project91 Advance Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated in India, which is the data controller for the limited processing described below. You can reach us any time at support@chipsmind.com.

The short version

  • No accounts. You don't sign up, and we don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • Your data stays on your device. Sessions, players, amounts and photos are stored locally on your phone.
  • No ads, no analytics SDKs, no data sale.
  • The only thing that leaves your device is a score-sheet photo you choose to scan — and we don't keep it.

What's stored on your device

All of your game data — sessions, players, amounts, settlement history and any photos you attach — is stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, back up or sync this data to our servers. If you delete the app or use the in-app delete option, that data is gone.

What happens when you scan a score sheet

When you choose to scan a handwritten score sheet, the photo is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our API (hosted on Cloudflare Workers), which forwards it to Google's Gemini API for text extraction. The extracted text is returned to your device, where it becomes an editable draft you review before saving.

  • We do not store the photo or the extracted result on our servers. It is processed in transit and discarded.
  • Google processes the image under its own API terms as our processor. We do not permit the image to be used to train models where that option is available to us.
  • Scanning only happens when you actively take or select a photo and ask ChipsMind to read it. Nothing is scanned in the background.

What we store on our servers

To operate the free tier's monthly scan allowance, we store a minimal record: an anonymous, randomly generated device identifier and a monthly scan count associated with it.

  • This identifier is generated on-device and is not linked to your name, email, phone number or any personal identity.
  • It is used solely to meter free-tier usage. It is not used for tracking, profiling or advertising.
  • It contains none of your game data — no players, amounts or photos.

Biometrics and app lock

If you enable Face ID, fingerprint or PIN to lock the app — or to reveal Magic Zeros values — that verification happens entirely on your device through your operating system. We never receive, see or store your biometric data.

Payments and subscriptions

ChipsMind is free to use, with an optional Pro subscription that may be offered in future. Any subscription is purchased and processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. We do not receive or store your payment card or billing details.

What we don't do

  • No advertising and no ad identifiers.
  • No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No selling, renting or sharing of personal data.

Your choices and rights

  • Export: you can export your data to a CSV file at any time from within the app.
  • Delete: you can erase all your data from Settings → Delete data, or by removing the app.
  • Because we hold no personal identity data, we have no personal profile of you to access or correct. For any question about the anonymous scan-count record, contact us and we'll help.

Children

ChipsMind is intended for adults keeping records of private card games and is not directed at children.

Data retention

Score-sheet photos are not retained after extraction. The anonymous scan-count record persists while the app is in use and resets monthly; it is removed on our normal maintenance cycle when a device identifier is no longer active.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make a material change we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of ChipsMind after an update means you accept the revised policy.
